When your dog dies,
She will walk across a rainbow,
To get to doggie heaven.
She will wade in a stream,
Just like in a dream!
She will slide down a waterfall,
Walk upon a cloud,
And fly with wings up so high!
But even with all those things she will do,
She will stare across the rainbow with tears in her eyes,
Because she is missing a part of her heart,
And that part was the part with you in it.
Very first poem I ever wrote on my own time(: It was published in my local newspaper when I was 9!
STORY BEHIND THE POEM:
My friend, Sabrina, was at camp when her dog died, and was sad about it one day, so I wrote this for her!
Sabrina, if you’re reading this, I MISS YOU!
