Christmas and The Big Apple

This years Christmas was definitely a lot different than normal. For once, working 55 hours in the 2 weeks I was home before Christmas made it not feel like Christmas. We changed Christmas Eve plans (that have been the same since before I can remember) which made it weird. And I don’t know, it just didn’t feel like Christmas this year.

Nevertheless, it was a good Christmas. Christmas Eve mass was beautiful as always and it was fantastic seeing friends and family.

Now, it’s the day I’ve been waiting months for — in about 7 hours, I will be on my way to New York City with a few of my close friends. We’re driving the 12 hours, leaving at midnight and hopefully arriving around noon or 1.

Saturday, we’re arriving and then at 10, we’re seeing Hedwig and the Angry Inch (and meeting Michael C Hall which ahhhh). Sunday, we’re seeing two shows — Sideshow and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. We might also get tickets to see On the Town if money allows. We’re leaving Tuesday, so in our free time, I think the plan is to just see the sights and experience NYC. We’ve talked about ice skating, going up into the Empire State Building, seeing the Statue of Liberty, etc.

It’s going to be an insane trip and I’m beyond excited!
